\f0\b\fs30 \cf0 \cb2 Wendell Porter \b0 : The course that I have put together
is Global and Sustainable Energy. And hopefully it\'92s an eye opener. I\'92ve had really
good feedback from the UF students that have taken the class. The Coursera class is the
exact same format, we didn\'92t water it down or change it or anything for this world wide
layout. It\'92s a real university class. The videos you make are to an empty room.\'a0
You know, when I\'92m out we\'92ve done some field shoots too and that\'92s a riot. You
know, we basically walk along with a camera in a residents or commercial building or a
couple buildings on campus, so you don\'92t get the sense that 16,000 people are staring
at you.\ \'a0\
\b Jennifer Smith: \b0 MOOC is a massive open online course.
And it typically will have anywhere from 1,000 to 100,000 students.Really a MOOC is just
a different way of delivering and receiving material, course material and different ways
to interact with that course material.MOOC is different than a regular UF course partly
because 1- there are thousand of students, 10,000, 20,000, 30,000 students. So just think
about the possibilities of interacting with that many students. Secondly it is more of
a social type of learning than we are used to with our UF courses. The MOOCs are created
specifically so people can bring their own experiences and share these things with each
other and hopefully build everyone\'92s understanding of a particular topic.\
\'a0\
\b Shay Potts: \b0 That\'92s the really nice thing about
a MOOC, because there are students from all over, you have different backgrounds and different
levels of expertise. And so other people can offer their expertise in that area from a
totally different part of the world, which is pretty cool.\

\b Jennifer Smith: \b0 Education is changing, so we don\'92t
know how it\'92s changing and we want to be involved in the conversation. We want to have
a seat at the table on how education may evolve and we want to have some information on how
to input into this process. So by being part of this consortium we are at least learning
what\'92s going on and hopefully will be able to make educated choices for our students
population and also the future student population.\ }
