What's the Career Development Office?
Sure, we do a variety of things. I think the
thing we're most known for though is OtterJobs.
OtterJobs is where students find on-campus and
off-campus positions. It's actually powered by
a national organization called NACE which is our
Professional Association for Career Development
Offices. We also assist with career counseling
and career planning. So if you come in and you
don't know what you want to do, after school,
during school, what to study, we can help you
find that. We have a program called Focus, and
focus does just that. It helps you focus on what
you want to do with your life, before after, during
school. We also have our career library where you
can look at books for your graduate school, test
taking skills, personality assessments, and we also
help with graduate and professional skills. So we
have four big fairs that we do a year, a professional
networking career conference, our career fair, our
internship and part-time job fair and the big career
fair. We do all of that just for our students just
to make sure they are prepared for their future.
