It is great to be back to my alma mater,
forty-three years I graduated,
a forty-three years ago. It's changed a little bit,
but I think, the student experience from the conversations I had
this morning, remains the same
of a campus that cares about its students, cares about the future,
not only of the San Joaquin Valley but California
and this country. So, you are at a great place! I've been seizing up this turkey,
I'm not sure of the protocol, on what basis to pardon the turkey,
it's got some pretty good-looking thighs in there, thinking about a couple of weeks from now—
now
um
So, so can I, can I touch this
animal? So this animal—doe the turkey have a name or just—?
Pepper
So if Pepper is a bulldog fan— Hi Pepper, how you doing?
I can go across the top of his back?
Oooh. Okay, Pepper, how you doing?
So if you sit down a little bit,
then I'll know you're a bulldog fan and then I'll pardon you, But if you are not a bulldog
fan--
He's down. Ooh!
You are pardoned!
Bulldog fan # 1, Pepper! Alright, fantastic!
Although I do like your thighs. Thanks for helping.
Thanks to all of you and as students here, you know from here you can go anywhere,
never forget that. It's not where you start is where you finish and what you are doing
at Fresno State academically and socially
and personally really does matter for all of us. So I'm proud of you. Thank you.
