This Is Pastor Rick And I Want To Point Out: 7 Things You Might Be Doing Wrong.
#1 – Are Focused More On What You Are Against Than What You Are For
You can declare what you are against at first, just for a little while, and it may help you
pick up steam…but a great leader actually learns the best way to lead is through vision
of the future and not focusing on nor criticizing the past!
#2 – Are You Angry There are many leaders who are frustrated
and angry with their business, their ministry, their people, and their present situation.
Understand that there are times that godly, righteous anger is appropriate…just not
every Week!
#3 – Did You Assume That Everyone Would Like You
It’s just not true…if you try to do something great for God, you are GOING to receive opposition,
period! You have to understand that your calling was not to be loved by everyone…but rather
to be obedient to Him!
#4 – Do You Spend A lot Time Fighting Critics Do you maybe yell at lots of people just because
of the voice of a few.” Understand Critics are hardly ever the majority…they just seem
to have the loudest voice. Just because someone is obsessed with attacking you does not mean
you need to be obsessed with them!
#5 – If People Don't Agree With You Do You Think You Can't Learn From Them
You have to understand that there are theological issues to fight over and ones to leave alone.
AND…some of your best friends in life and ministry maybe people with whom you've had
differences; however, if you do “fight,” we fight as brothers, knowing that when the
“fight” is over the relationship will still be intact.
#6 – Are You A Control Freak Do you often have the feeling that “if you
want to do something right then you need to do it yourself.” WRONG! Remember this “You
need to let your experts actually be your experts!” One day you may finally come to
the realization that you don't always have the best ideas... in fact you may find, as
I have, I wasn’t even the best leader in the group!
#7 – Did You Think It Would Get Easier Understand that “Making the decision to
step out in faith and get started in ministry or business is the easiest decision you will
ever make – it gets way more difficult from this point on.” And this is true whether
we are just starting up or whether You are several years out!
