Hello Everyone
today we will be making
Homemade Spring rolls
filled with mainly veggies
a quick and tasty dipping sauce
we will be using spring roll wrappers
I will leave a link to the How to make them
on a card
the ingredients are available and cheap
except probably for the Worcestershire sauce
and the oyster sauce
that are available in most grocery stores
at the asian product aisle
with affordable prices
I highly recommend purchasing them
and try them out
in case you dont have them you can simply
substitute them with the soy sauce
season the ground beef with
salt and black pepper
1 tsp of the oyster sauce
and 1 tsp of the Worcestershire sauce
set aside till needed
cut the chicken breast to very fine strips
season with salt and black pepper
1 tsp each of Worcestershire and oyster sauce
or simple use soy sauce
shred the cabbage very finely
cut the carrots into thin slices
then to thin strips as well
cut the bell pepper into strips as well
and the onion as well
to a large pan add 3 tbsp of veg. oil
grate in 3 garlic cloves
saute till the oil is fragant
add in the chicken and the ground beef
fry the two together
till they are cooked through
add in 1 tsp of the Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp of the oyster sauce
1/2 tsp of ground ginger
remove from the frying pan and set aside for now
add 3 tbsp of veg. oil to the same frying pan
3 grated garlic cloves
saute till the oil is fragrant
add in the onion
the carrots
red bell pepper
and the green and red cabbage
mix till the veggies are coated with the oil
add 1 tbsp of the Worcestershire sauce
and 1 tbsp of the oyster sauce
1/2 tsp of the sesame oil
salt
and 1/2 tsp of ground ginger
saute over medium high heat
for 2 to 3 minutes
add in the meat to the veggies
stir for 1/2 minute
remove the heat
set aside to cool completely
we will be using a little water and a brush
and the spring roll wrappers
set one sheet of the wrapper like so
add 2 heaping tbsps of the filling
fold the dough like so
if you dont have the spring roll wrapper
you can use pastilla wrappers
or filo dough
it is not going to taste or look the same
but its going to taste delicious nevertheless
I am making extra large rolls
so I am using two sheets of dough
if you make them smaller
use only one sheet of the dough
whats important is the dough should be
dry on the outside
the filling should not wet and tear the dough
the rolls are ready
heat up the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan
deep fry the rolls
stir constantly
till golden brown
once done and golden brown
place on top of paper towels
to absorb the extra oil
to make the dipping sauce
mix 2 tbsp of apricot jam
1 tsp of the Worcestershire sauce
and 1 tsp of apple cider vinaigre
mix well
and the dipping sauce is ready
