Hello, Im back with a new Tutorial on how to make another trap for your deathrun.
Actually its kind of 2 traps - Because first of im going to show you how to make a trigger that kills you - Pretty simple
Then, Im going to show you how to make a "Func_Movelinear" Which is when you press a button, a block will move straight one way.
But first the trigger.
First, make a block on where you want your "Death Field" To be.
Select the texture "Trigger" for your block.
Make the block.
CTRL + T to open the Properties Menu, for your trigger.
Call it: "Trigger_Hurt"
Name it what you want.
The damage is how much damage each second you are in the trigger - 10 takes 10 sec for you to die, and 100 kills you instantly.
Im gonna set it to 50, so you die fast, but not instantly.
Thats how you make a "Death Field" for your deathrun map.
Now, how to make a "Func_Movelinear"
Make the block you want to move.
I always make a "tail" on it, so it looks a little more realistic.
"CTRL+T" to open up the Properties menu.
Type in "Func_movlinear"
I Name it "Trap1_Movelinear"
Speed: this is how quick the block moves, 300 is fast, so im gonna pick that.
The move distance is how far the block will move. You can measure how far it must go in the grid.
There, 128.
The block damage must be 0 if you want the player to be "Pushed" If you want fx 2 blocks to crush the player, set it to a high number.
You can also choose a sound for the block when it runs, and stops.
The move direction can be seen in the grid field.
I want the block to go this way, so i dont have to change anything becasue it already points that way.
You can also set it to Up and down.
Now, to the button.
CTRL + T..
Mine screws a little up here..
So ill just make a new simple block.
Type "func_button"
Check the "Dont move"
Now the outputs - First "add" a new one.
So, when the button is pressed.. (choose "Onpressed"
"The target/block, will.." (Choose the block you want to move)
Open.
Copy/Paste it.
Change "Open" to close on one of them.
And add a delay - This means when the button is pressed the block will push, and in * seconds it will close.
Now, if you want to be able to press the button again - After a delay of own choice, watch the rest.
Add a new output.
Onpressed.
Will the button you just pressed, in this case trap1_button.
"Lock"
Then it cant be pressed again, before it is "Unlocked" By another trigger, which we will make now.
Copy/Paste it.
Change the "Lock" to unlock.
And add a delay.
There you go. Another trap for your deathrun xD
If you have any ideas for new traps or questions, please comment them :D Thanks for watching!
