Hello my friends, today we will draw a face
let´s begin by sketching an oval and dividing it in half
vertically and horizontally
Then divide it lower half, in half again for the nose and again just a little bit higher
than half for the center of the mouth
The width of the nose is about the same as the distance between the eyes
The eyes go a little bit tilted, down toward to the center of the face, rather than horizontal
and the size of each eye is about the same as the distance between them
Of course these are just guidelines and may very a lot from person to person
The top of the iris is usually partially covered by the upper lid while the lower part maybe visible
The size of the ear is about from the height of the eyebrow to the bottom of the nose
I have been using graphite for the sketch because it is cleaner and more precise
but now for the very darks we can use a charcoal and smudge it with a stump
You may use another piece of paper if you need more charcoal on the stump
We place the charcoal directly where we need the darkest areas and then we smudge it for the rest
Let´s do a chamois to give a tone to the face
I love this technique, just make sure you never touch the paper with your fingers
because the grease will ruin it
then with a kneaded eraser or a regular eraser you may put lights, it is such a nice effect
Don't make the eyebrows too solid
Of course you can also use the graphite for the shadows that don't go too black, it's ok!
Let's use the chamois again to give a tone to the hair, how nice! and then will reinforce
it with a charcoal pencil, doing this is really enjoyable! Please always draw with passion
For fine detail I rather use graphite, she's looking at you. Watch out!
Give more volume with the charcoal and the eraser and then you may smooth it out with a brush
This will give softness.
Ok, good! Please let me know what do you think about and if you enjoyed it, please give it
a like and subscribe and i'll see you, as always on tuesday.
