I started Cerritos College when I was nineteen years old. I was in Teacher TRAC and attending
full time. I got tired of having two part time jobs and not being able to make ends
meet. As a single mom, it got difficult to provide for my son. I found a commission based
sales job in the wireless industry. It promised big bucks and a quick way to climb up the
corporate ladder. Many wireless companies, banks, and years later, i was unfulfilled,
unhappy, and felt like the companies owned me and ran my life. I longed to teach and
do what I had originally set out to do. Would it be possible to go back to school and finish
what I started? The answer is YES! It's never too late to do what you love. Where there's
a will, there's a way.
