Greetings, folks -- Trooper Tru here. I'm back to rant, and have I got a lot to talk
about.
The wrestling world has gone crazy.
And I mean that in probably the kindest way possible.
At first I was very skeptical about Triple-H and Stephanie McMahon (who have collectively
called themselves "The Authority") and their ability to take charge of WWE.
To this day, I don't trust them -- nor do I like them... but apparently, they know what
is "best for business" after all.
Since the 18th of August 2013, Randy Orton has been WWE Champion.
Scratch that -- on the 18th of August 2013, Orton was practically handed the WWE Championship
-- by The Authority, no less!
At every pay-per-view since then, The Authority have interfered in every way
to make sure that Randy Orton remained WWE Champion (and the "face of WWE").
Actually, that kinda changed at the "Tables, Ladders, and Chairs" pay-per-view; it was
a title unification match between John Cena (who was then World Heavyweight Champion)
and WWE Champion Randy Orton.
Unfortunately, Orton would go on to win that title unification match --
after handcuffing John Cena to one of the ring ropes earlier in the match.
Orton emerged victorious as the newly-crowned WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Then at the next pay-per-view (the Royal Rumble), John Cena was THAT CLOSE to winning with the
STFU (his crossface submission move)...
until the damn Wyatt Family (that's Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan, and Luke Harper) appeared at
ringside and distracted John Cena --
thus allowing Orton to hit him with the RKO and secure the pinfall victory.
The very next night on RAW, we saw a 3-on-3 tag team match -- where the winning team would
be the first three challengers for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship inside the
Elimination Chamber -- at the namesake pay-per-view event.
In one corner stood The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins)...
and in the other corner stood these guys: John Cena, Daniel Bryan, and the returning Celtic Warrior Sheamus.
Just near the end of the match, the damn Wyatt Family came in and pummeled Cena, Sheamus,
and Bryan -- thus causing the Shield to be disqualified... and the winning team to be
the first three challengers in the Elimination Chamber.
Two more will be selected in the coming weeks before the pay-per-view.
And to make matters more interesting, the winner of that match would defend the WWE
World Heavyweight Championship against the returning Dave Batista at WrestleMania 30.
Now onto another wrestling company in which I have suddenly taken interest: TNA (Total
Nonstop Action) Wrestling.
I've been watching "Impact Wrestling" since early September 2013.
Of course, TNA had its usual face-versus-heel storylines...
but what got me skeptical even about TNA was its President: Dixie Carter.
Weeks after I started watching "Impact Wrestling", Dixie started favoring all the heel wrestlers
and putting the top babyfaces through hell... all for the sake of what Dixie deems
"best for business".
There is one rivalry that was shades of the Austin-versus-McMahon feud back in 1999:
Dixie Carter vs. AJ Styles.
From the 20th of October to the 5th of December 2013,
Styles held the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.
On the 24th of October, Styles successfully defended the TNA World Championship against
Bully Ray... then drove off and away from the arena, thus walking out on Dixie Carter
and TNA.
That bit of action left Dixie a little anxious.
So she started a tournament to determine the new TNA World Champion.
Unfortunately, Magnus won the tournament (and the title) thanks in part to some top heel
wrestlers on "Team Dixie".
In the finals of that tournament, Dixie's chief-of-staff
(a little *** named "Rockstar Spud") knocked Jeff Hardy off the ladder,
thus paving the way for Magnus to win his first TNA World Championship.
But Jeff Hardy was not the only wrestler to be screwed over by Dixie Carter;
the returning AJ Styles (who held the other TNA World Championship) was ambushed time
and time again by the top heel wrestlers on "Team Dixie" -- thus making it easier and
easier for Magnus to secure the victory, remain TNA World Champion, and get AJ Styles out
of Dixie's life for good.
Shortly after that feud was ended, The Icon Sting (real name Steve Borden; the only face
wrestler in AJ Styles' corner) was also screwed over by Dixie Carter.
Thanks to interference by Rockstar Spud and Dixie's spoiled-rotten brat of a nephew Ethan the Third,
Magnus defeated Sting in a Title-versus-Career match on the 16th of January 2014.
So there you have it -- 3 top babyface wrestlers screwed over by TNA President Dixie Carter
(who has lately become the TNA version of Vince McMahon).
But here is where TNA got interesting again: on Thursday the 30th of January, Samoa Joe
and Kurt Angle challenged Ethan Carter III and TNA World Champion Magnus to a tag-team
match -- with the following stipulations:
If Ethan and Magnus won, Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe would leave TNA.
However... if either Kurt Angle or Samoa Joe scored a pinfall or submission, then that
man would automatically be the new #1 Contender for the TNA World Championship.
And to make matters more interesting, a new "TNA Investor" added another stipulation:
Whosoever chooses to interfere in the match will be fired on the spot.
This made it a more level playing field -- thus allowing Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe to win.
To be more precise, Samoa Joe applied a rear-naked-choke submission move on Magnus, thus forcing the
proverbial "paper champion" to tap out!
And just before Dixie could rant and rave and yell at her "chosen team" for losing that
match, Samoa Joe and Kurt Angle give inspiring speeches to express that TNA is going through
another positive change --
thanks to its new investor: Montel Vontavious Porter...
who shows up on the TNA stage just before the episode ends!
My reaction to that: "Tough break, Dixie."
[Ultimate Burn] "Awww!"
Anyway... I may have said that I would not post as many videos on YouTube due to some
"rather unique circumstances",
but hey -- I had to let you good folks know that I'm all right, and the MJPL Brotherhood
is still in existence.
Speaking of the Brotherhood, I am currently working on the next chapter in the 2014 Season
of the Saga.
I still have some fight footage to record, so it may be a while before it is completed.
At the same time, I am still looking for work, so please wish me luck on that.
On that note, it is getting late and I should be in bed.
See you next time, Keep Michaeling, Think Pink, and God Bless.
Ima no sayonara (Goodbye for now).
This is the home of the MJPL Brotherhood: The Official 2014 Season.
