Hey Grizzlies, it's Tana here with KPCN.
Dropping a course is a big decision to make. It's important to ask
yourself a few questions before turning that drop form in.
Have you spoken with your instructor and advisor about your other options?
Sometimes you can change the course's grading option or take an incomplete.
Do you know how dropping a class could affect your Financial Aid?
Talk to financial aid immediately, because once you turn in
your drop form, you can't take it back.
Are you part of any programs that require you to complete a certain
number of credits each semester? You might be able to work
something out with them, if you let them know in advance.
Will you need to retake this course for your major or
General Education Requirements? If so, when do you plan to retake it?
Remember Newton? An object in motion stays in motion.
There are many things to consider before dropping a course. Tutoring and Study Jam
are examples of the various campus resources that could help.
Make sure you've explored all your options before making your decision!
