So tell me again what those two nice ladies in New Hampshire said?
This is Buzz60 Politics, I'm Jay DeDapper.
So by now you know what we think of national polls -- they don't matter because this is
race will be decided in a small collection of swing states. But now there's a new type
of swing state poll you oughtta ignore too.
Politico/GWU and Rasmussen have created the group swing state poll which culls results
in nine or ten battleground states from their larger national surveys. WhatÕs the matter
with that?
Take Politico Ð they poll a 1000 people nationally Ð so how many are in those swing states Ð
about 250 on average but remember thatÕs 250 people spread across ten states.
So when the pollsters start saying things like one candidate is closing the gender gap
in the battleground states thatÕs based on what maybe 125 women said. And how many of
them were in smaller states like New Hampshire or Nevada?
Oh, well, one or two or maybe none. Great poll huh?
If you want to know whatÕs happening in the swing states stick to the individual polls
of those swing states.
There are plenty of them.
