I actually started out at a different school. I thought it would be a really good fit for me but it turns out it wasn't.
So I left I took some time. Then I got a letter saying you're part of Pi Theta Kappa
here's a free application. So I filled it out just to see. And I got in and got a very generous scholarship package as well for being a transfer and for my grades and everything.
So I came here and turns out this was a much better fit for me then the last school.

I chose Communication/ Journalism because I have always been interested in media and how it works. I've always wanted to do something either with public relations or writing for a magazine.
So I decided to pursue that as my major. To get a feel for it and see if it is really want I want to do with my life.

Because I was a commuter and I live in Geneva so I have a 45 minute drive back and forth along with working and interning at Pluta Cancer Center in my last semester as well I didn't really have time to do clubs on campus.
But one event I did do was Banana Banter with Rich Cohen with my Public Relations service learning class.
with Professor Reinson. We did a virtual event with Rich Cohen he's an author and an interviewing author to Vanity Fair and Rolling Stone.
And we used his book "The Fish that Ate the Whale" in our Public Relations class and so we hosted the event with him and did all of the media alerts, social media outreach, all promotion on campus, and it was really cool to see how public relations works
in the real world and get hands on experience. And you know things go wrong, and we can't really teach that in a classroom through a book so we get that first hand experience.

My favorite memory would be classes with Barb Rockell in the Sociology department. She brings a lot of real life experience because she has worked with the Monroe County Sheriff's department
and she has worked in the jails. And she has just the most amazing stories with working with people and you know it's a very relaxed class. And the four classes I took with her would probably be the best experience.

In five years I see myself working down in NYC, in the Public Relations realm. Probably somewhere in the health care field.
Cause when I worked at Pluta or interned at Pluta I really enjoyed working with an organization that does so much for the community.
And so I want to be a part of something like that.

Great, wonderful, and nurturing. I had really great professors.
