Welcome to this new video.
Today I'll show you how you can dump DS games with a Slot-2 flashcard through the GBA slot.
First we have to download the Wood dumper. Rudolphs duming tool works, too but it doesn't support so many games.
But it's still usable to backup savestates.
We'll use the Slot-2 version.
You have to patch the tool with DLDI if your flashcard doesn't support auto DLDI patching (which almost none does).
I already downloaded the files for the patch.
You can find a link to my DLDI Tutorial in the description.
Now it's patched for my EZ4.
That's the reason why I can delete these files now.
Another problem: The EZ4 only reads DS mode homebrew with the extension *.nds.gba or *.bin
I have to rename the file.
If you can't edit the extension:
Open a folder (I'll copy the *.nds into that folder),
go to "organize",
select "folder and search options",
Select view
and
take the tick out of the box "don't show the type if the extension is known".
Now you should be able to rename the extension.
The EZ4 (or at least the EZ4 lite deluxe which I own) only supports Micro SD cards with 1GB and less storage for the FAT system,
it's possible that you can't save properly if your MicroSD has more storage.
Or it freezes.
The file has to be copied directly to the MicroSD card and now we'll continue at the DS.
We need the Slot-2 flashcard which supports the DS mode,
Flashme/ a Passme/ a Slot-1 flashcard to start the Slot-2 flashcard in the DS mode
(I'll use FlashMe),
the DS game we want to dump
and a DS fat/ lite.
But my EZ4 doesn't match into a "fat" ds.
The game has to be inserted into Slot-1
(you can find links to a FlashMe tutorial and to a shop that sells Slot-2 flashcards in the description)
Now I start the EZ4 in the DS mode
and open the wooddumper.
It loads, I have to press OK and the card check fails (which can happen the first time).
I reinsert the DS card since it continues failing.
But now it works.
The process takes a while and I'll cut the video here.
The dump is finished and it took less time compared to the Wifi dump.
It's still possible to use the Wifi method (you can find a link to a tutorial in the description).
I restart the DS,
put the EZ4 into the DS mode,
and can see the dumped game.
The name contains the date.
I'll patch it to play the game after the video.
I hope you liked the video, feel free to ask your questions in the comments.
