John Butler [Piano music] I am John Sibley Butler, professor of management and sociology,
director of the IC2 Institute and the Herb Kelleher Center for Entrepreneurship at The University of Texas at Austin.
Well, I grew up in southern Louisiana where music is like drinking water and started out playing all kinds of instruments.
Played classical guitar, played in bands as a young kid, played keyboards, played guitar and sing.
In my entrepreneurship classes I like to stress the creativity and how they think.
They can say anything in class and push the limits of the world.
I'm here to make sure that I don't kill the creativity that you have.

The great thing about studying innovation and entrepreneurship is that it's hard to predict who will do great things
because in addition to the knowledge and know-how, there are other factors that's hard to account for.
And, what's inside a person and their determination is hard to measure.
