Welcome to the 2013
Challenger
Jamboree
The Challenger program is for all all children with physical and mental challenges
from ages 4 to 22
and I know a manager who is about 50 who plays with us.
It's a special program
designed for the true all-stars in life. The kids who face true challenges everyday,
that aren't hard, inside fastballs
or wildly breaking curve balls. They face the challenges every day
that when they get to the ball field. It's fun
and it's love and it's a great program. Today's jamboree
was put together by a large number of people but maybe just as importantly
were the donations that came pouring in from the many folks in the area.
I want to thank the District 44 for donating to the cause.
Thank you very much. District 52 very generous donation . Tank you very much.
San Carlos Little League chipped in.
Little League International through a partnership with Teammates for
Kids Foundation
donated a huge sum of money.
This foundation through Little League International
is here to support every challenger team him the world.
If you file a grant form with them, they will donate money to your program
so you can have better
equipment, better facilities bring more kids on scholarship.
Please take the time if you're running a Challenger program
to seek out this grant and file it with LIttle League International.
It makes us all stronger. I would like to thank Target who donated food your local Target.
We should all patronize them.
Cupertino Host Lions the Los Gatos Police Officers Association.
I would like to thank Mark Kelly
through Michelle Holbrooke who donating a lot of food here today.
And Darlene Marquez, who is better known as Alesio's Mom
who also donated a lot of the food here today.
And then, there are two very special foundations that are here.
I want to thank John Wilson with the Safe at Home Foundation.
It was formerly known as the Curtis . Sanders Foundation. Many of you know Curtis.
They are here honoring his memory. He was a player at Sunnyvale National.
And last but not least, we couldn't have done it without Danielle Jolley.
She has provided all the water stations and juice stations.
She is with the Los Gatos Red Sox and she does this
honoring the memory of Justin Jollie through the Justin Jollie Memorial Foundation
Alright, this is where we applaud like crazy.
