Hi! My name is Jenifer Cononico and we are back at Expert Village. Today our lesson is
learning how to type on a keyboard. We are going to begin with our posture. You don't
necessarily have to sit straight up because your lower back is going to be supported by
the rest of your body while you type. So slouching is okay when you are learning to type and
when you are typing on a keyboard. You don't want to have your legs crossed because it
will unbalance you. Now we will begin by placing our hands in the center row, the middle row
of the keyboard. This is going to be our home position. This is where your pinkie technique
on both hands will be near the enter on the right hand and the caps lock on the left hand.
Your thumbs will be relaxed right at the space bar and now we want to at least stretch our
hands out. Stretch them like this. You want to have your wrists, all these little muscles
relaxed like that.
