Welcome to my class. Today I'd like to teach you about the new way that you're going to
be learning. So, what I'd like you to do is take out your syllabus and on the 2nd page,
underneath where it says, "what if I'm absent?" and that dashed line, I'd like you take some
notes. Have you ever felt like this in a classroom, while your teacher was "teaching"? How about
this? I know for sure that you have felt like this before. I'd like to introduce to you
TTT. Or in other words, Three Tiered Teaching. Tiered meaning different levels or different
stations. Three tiered teaching gives us the opportunity to teach to you in different ways.
Here's how it's going to look. When you come into class there will be three different stations:
Station 1, 2, and 3. From those stations you'll be rotating through and by the end of class
you will have seen all three stations. So what will you be doing in this stations, or
at these tiers? At one station you will always begin at the computer, log on to your edmodo
account, and from there you'll watch videos, log into websites. At the second tier you'll
have an opportunity to do some hands-on learning, to collaborate, to teach each other, and sometimes
to work with the teacher or a tutor. In the third tier you'll be working alone, making
connections of old content and new and learning to puzzle by yourself. So where did Three
tiered teaching come from? Why TTT? Well, we recognized that every student is different
and that they have a different way of learning. So, we wanted to teach to student's unique
strengths and, in the end, to ensure that every single student found success. We hope
that happens for you.
