Hi, I'm Liz Beckett and this is my model Emily and I'm going to show you how to do a great
nail paint. So the first thing I'm going to do is remove
any oils or moisture that might be on the nails using a little nail varnish. The best
place to keep the nail varnish is in the fridge because it keeps them nice and fluid and then
they're easier to paint. File down the nails using one direction, otherwise
you'll split the nail beds. The first thing you want to do is apply a base coat. They
sell base coats and top coats but I just use the same for both. Try and do each nail in
three strokes. As this is the clear one, it doesn't really matter so much if you make
mistakes. Shaking your varnish before you use it ruins
the texture so just roll it between your hands. Don't worry too much about going right to
the edge of the nail bed. Actually, if you've got wider fingernails, if you go just slightly
in, it'll make them look longer and narrower. Allow that to dry for a minute and then move
onto your next coat. If you make any mistakes, dip a cotton bud into nail varnish remover
and just use it to tidy up the edges. Allow that to dry for a minute and then apply another
coat. Finally, add the top coat. When you add the
top coat, do the three strokes and then just sweep the brush along the edge of the nail
and that will just seal it. Don't touch anything for about 20 minutes and then you'll keep
perfectly painted nails.
