Season 1 Episode 9
Muhammad in our life: (Cave of Hira)
Our aim from this trip is to clean up the road upwards, and nail some signboard along the way.
What do you think?
This is too much! We hope everyone would cooperate along
Before the Prophetic mission and revelation, the Prophet (PBUH) sought solitude in the Cave of Hira.
This is the first lesson we learn: it is important to have some moments of solitude every now and then
Cigarettes!
One of our plans was to remove harmful objects and clean the path along, but we didn't expect such an amount of waste!
Were the Prophet (PBUH) among us today, and saw this ..!!
Is there some juice?
No!
Any sandwiches?
No!
We now realize the remote distance the Prophet (PBUH) would go to make sure he is in solitude.
Completely off the beaten track.
I think it takes about an hour to get there.
And imagine how steep it is when going down!
Bearing in mind that when revelation first started, the Prophet hurried down the road fear-stricken, and returned back to Lady Khadija saying, "warp me up, wrap me up!"
We'll pin down this signboard here as a reminder of that agitation the Prophet went through.
If you feel too weary to continue, you may rest a while.
It's a marvel how he could climb all the up to the cave several times!
At last! We reached the Cave! Praise be to Allah.
Very few places we know of where the Prophet has been for certain. This is one of those places.
Does prayer in here involve more reward?
I don't think so, because this is a place where the Prophet would visit for the sole purpose of worshipping in solitude
What about you, Muhammad ?
If it's about a mountain being in Mecca, we could've climbed any mountain, but this one has its particularity
It was important for the Prophet and played a key role in his life. Besides, this is where the revelation and mission started.
Both of you have a point, so let's strike middle grounds
When it comes to matters of worship, we follow the Prophet's commands revealed to him by Allah
There is no bidding regarding Hira Cave having a worship-related particularity or rank and this is from a Fiqhi perspective
But the place still retains a sentimental and spiritual value. It's a place the Prophet has been to, and where Jibreel (Angle Gabriel) descended with revelation.
The first message from Allah tous, as Muslims, was first delivered here
All of which has spiritual value to us. Praying here doesn't necessarily entail more reward than elsewhere, but the spirituality with which you pray here increases the quality of your worshipping
Upon returning from Al-Baqi (Cemetery in Medina), and prior to his death, the Prophet said, "I wish I could meet my brothers – those who believe in me without having seen me."
This is a token of yearning that is 1400 years old!
The longs to meet those Muslims who believed in him still after his death, because they are special in a way
The Companions had the advantage of seeing the Prophet, and accompanying him. They also fought along his side, and left their homes behind upon Hijra (Migration from Mecca to Medina).
This is such a superior state for which they deserved the highest ranks in Paradise.
But we, on the other hand, have an advantage of our own: we believed in him without ever having seen him.
We pray to Allah to meet the Prophet in paradise, and that he would be pride of us, and may we drink from his Al-Kawther Cistern whereupon we will never thirst again.
May we meet with the Prophet in Paradise to kiss his hands, and Inshallah we will remember then this gathering we're having now
There are some good people who left dust bins and signboards, may Allah reward them amply
This will encourage people to throw waste in there rather than on the ground
Descending is way harder than ascending!
Someone fell down!
Are these your glasses?
Yes..
They're busted!
Muhammad is our tour guide in Mecca, may Allah reward him amply
I hope your glasses weren't of sentimental value or something..
After what we have been through today, I cannot help doing this!
Well done!
Is this for real, or you're being showy?!
Come on!
