(Male Host) Almost all of the popularity surrounding the name Virgil seems to
come from two historical figures.
(Female Host) The first is Roman poet Vergilious Maro who gave us The Aeneid,
the classic epic.
(Male Host) The other is St. Virgilius of Salsburg, an 8th century monk who
evangelized Carinthia and later became the Archbishop of Salsburg, of which
he gets his name.
(Female Host) Virgil has not been a popular boys name since the early 1900s,
although it is said that classic names resurge into popular culture from
time to time.
(Male Host) I personally feel it's cool to have a less popular name. Makes
one unique and interesting.
(Female Host) Virgil Exner Jr. was responsibe for the design of those
awesome cars you remember from the 1950s and 60s with the big fins. They were
called forward look cars.
(Male Host) Virgil's is also the name of an incredible microbrewed root beer.
If you are a root beer fan, look for the bottle with the bearded guy on it.
It's so good!
