I'm gonna read you some scriptures.
And I want you to tell me what they have in common.
Hi, I'm David Daniels from Chick Publications.
The first one is in Isaiah 55:11.
11 "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth:
it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Jeremiah 23:28.
28 "The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream;
and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully.
What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD."
Deuteronomy 18:18-20
18 "I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee,
and will put my words in his mouth;
and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
19 "And it shall come to pass,
that whosoever will not hearken unto my words
which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.
20 "But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name,
which I have not commanded him to speak,
or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die."
And the Lord Jesus said, in Luke 9:26,
26 "For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words,
of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory,
and in his Father's, and of the holy angels."
Many people want to abandon God's words for their own.
But why should we read man's words? Two thoughts about that.
One, God's words are powerful, which means man's words are ... not.
And the second, if we decide to use our words instead of God's,
are we really saying that we're ashamed of Him and His words?
One more scripture, Matthew 12:36-37.
36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak,
they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 "For by thy words thou shalt be justified,
and by thy words thou shalt be condemned."
Choose your words carefully.
I'd say, forget your words. Choose God's words.
Something to think about.
God bless you, and have a wonderful day.
