Here we are session 4
On
Greek originals says who?
We've come to an important
Prophecy in Deuteronomy
The reason that I'm spending time on this is because
I want you to understand the pain is taking care
And detail that the Bible
Tells us about how God
The father puts in place plans
To preserve and keep pure the old Testament Scriptures
So that when they come to look at the new Testament Scriptures
We'll realise that the same care and attention is there
If we know how to look for it
God prophesy is that they would want a King
This is way back with Moses even
And so certain conditions are set up
For the King to abide by when they decide to choose the King
Which of course you know they do
And it shall be,
when he sitteth upon the
throne of his kingdom, that he shall write
him a copy of this law
in a book out of that which
is before the priests the Levites:
In other words he would write out the five books of Moses
Can you imagine an elected leader today
Instead of being cheered and fated
By the party faithful sitting down
On their own as an elected leader
Watched over by diligent administrators while while they write
In their own hand all the election promises that they had made
And the statements of how they were going to administer their time in
Office I can't I can't imagine it myself
But I do know that any crowned king of Israel had to sit down
Watched over by the Levits and make a faithful copy of the books
Of the law written by Moses
This is for is own personal use so that he could keep the word of God to hand
And he would be able to refer to it and read to it on any occasion
He was not permitted to pay somebody else to copy the scriptures out
For him he had to make a copy himself
It would have been a painstaking job and it would
Have taken a good while to accomplish he would not have been allowed
To take shortcuts you know
Twitter it use a shorthand type of English that we
That we have today on SMS
And mobile phones and the like
Had to copy it out letter by letter the whole books of Moses letter by letter
And his writing would have been checked by the Levites to make sure
That he had not missed a single letter
You know when I was young in prep school
We used to have to write our lines
Well if you are weak you took the lines if you are bold who took the beating
A good caning across the backside we were often given a choice I used to
Take the meeting it was over quicker and done with but occasionally
It was seen that I was up to this so I would be given the lines to write
out so I used to glue all these pencils together so that I could
Do them and at times even even persuade for a certain
Cost to get somebody else to write them out for me
But that did not always work they weren't allowed to
To miss a single letter
We also learn from these scriptures that the Levites were entrusted with the writings
Of Moses and had to be faithful to them
I won't read it now the reference
Will be in the notes under this video and when I finally put the study
Notes out they'll all be in there
If you read to this passage
And as you read this passage you will become aware of
Several things Moses gets to the end of writing the law
He shared this with Joshua along the way Joshua knows exactly
What is in his writings what God is saying
The Levites are instructed to place the book that Moses has just finished writing
They were parchment rolls inside the very Arck that housed
The book written in stone
By the finger a God so the two rest together
So these two books rest side-by-side
Whether those written by Moses were
Were kept in a box alongside the Ark or actually inside the Ark
Doesn't really matter the point is that they were kept together
This signifies that they were both of equal worth
The stone book written by God with his finger and incidentally copied
By God and the parchment or the scroll written by Moses
In pen and ink who was inspired by God
And copied over and over again by the Levites and various kings
These were all of equal worth they were the word of God
Both books are equally inspired of God
Fully inspired it shows that God uses his own finger to write one stone
And the fingers and hands of his servant to write one in ink
On parchment even so make no bones about it
Both these books are inspired and indwelt by God
They are alive and they are spiritual
They were separate the soul and the spirit they will divide justly and rightly
The heart of man even today and they will
Inspire faith in those who read these books praise his mighty name
Moses makes a perfect call statement about the future
Heart of the Levites and their desire or rather
Their tendency to turn away from the living God this is why the two books
Are written and this is why Joshua has been prepared
Now the book written in stone doesn't need
To be copied because stone with chiselled letters
In it kept inside an ark are not going to deteriorate
but we know that that the book that Moses wrote under the inspiration
Of God using ink and parchment
Will get handled read and used
These books will need to be copied to preserve them
The Levities are charged with the faithful copying
And rendition of the books of Moses we know this because of the command
Given in Deuteronomy about how the Kings of Israel hard to copy
Faithfully letter by letter that copies of the books of Moses that the
Levites are entrusted with
The principal of accurate
Faithful copying is perfectly established both by God
Himself and the inspired book that he charged
That Moses should write we see a stream of faithful
Copies Marching through the passages of time
The copies are worth exactly the same worth
As the originals they carry the same
Weight as the originals both sets
Of copiers are indeed the inspired word of God
I find it a may see that man things so differently from God
If I had an original
Valued in original and I made
An exact copy on a photocopier on a piece of paper and I took them both
Into an auction houses the inspired original all the real original
No matter what it was writing book painting whatever
In an auction house the original the old one would be worth
More than a new one in even though they actually say the same thing
Not so with God because his words are living and alive
It doesn't matter how old they are it matters
Whether they are a faithful copy of all not
At regular intervals a copy of the inspired books
That Moses wrote are read aloud to the entire congregation
Including the Levites the leaders and every man woman and
Child God wants everyone of its people to hear know his inspired
Word because his word is living and it brings life to those
That hear this continues the the entire passage of the old
Testament right up until the time of our Lord Jesus Christ
So the King James Bible gives a clear picture of the
Word of God being written both by God and written by man
Who are inspired by God and it is obvious that the Lord God watches
Over his word and keeps it and preserves it
One clear example
Of anointed and blessed copies
Apart from the 10 Commandments
One clear example is an old Testament story that centres
On the use of a penknife the only time that penknife actually occurs
In the King James Bible you can read the story for yourself
In Jeremiah 36
It's the old story the King did not like what he was hearing from the word of God
So the page is that he didn't like from the prophecy got cut out
With a penknife and thrown into the fire okay we are not
Cutting out words and letters with penknives these days although you
You might be you might decide to cut them out of your Bible
We have scholars coming out words and letters left right and centre
They don't use a penknife they use higher criticism in their so called
Wonderfully sound scientific so-called
Education the fact
Is that in Matthew chapter 1
The King who cuts and orders
This book cut out actually
Captured in the fire burns at is completely missing from the line
Of our Lord Jesus Christ he was in the line
Pennies out of it if my memory serves me correctly I find
That this particular prophecy is written copied and then copied again
And then again and then ends up in our Bible
Praise God
I don't want to be the one or in anyone's shoes
Of someone who takes away words out of the word of God
I don't want to be in the shoes of someone who removes even letters from the words of God
Revelations 2219 And if any man
shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God
shall take away his part out of the book of life,
and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written
in this book.
Take away from the words of the book of this prophecy you don't need to remove
Words to find yourself in outer darkness of hell you just
Got to remove letters from the words don't you find it interesting
That today with our social networking an instant communication
The mobile phones of applications like Twitter
That the actual number of characters that you are allowed to use are counted
And limited our God obviously knows
Exactly how many letters are Ian he is inspired
Word he has counted them and is
Watching over them the exact number is of great importance to him
People like to carry on about the fact that the
Greek so-called originals had no punctuation marks
They also like to carry on no leave that
The Bible was written in the languages that were heard on the day of
Pentecost and they would have had punctuation marks because the hearers
Knew exactly what language they had heard from God
By this wonderful miracle and a knew
What it actually meant
Those early Bibles were written down were clear
In their meaning God knows
Exactly how many words and letters should be in each pure Bible
That was given to each of the nations of the earth I'll come to this
In a minute but we will leave on this stiring note
This instalment
Don't remain sitting in darkness learn the truth
About our King James Bible and start reading it
