health care benefits Martha Gomez is a single mom living in San Diego with permanent residency
status. She's been cleaning the offices of one of
the county's largest biotech firms, ELumina, earning 8.40 an hour.

That's why she's on a three day hunger strike to show solidarity for all janitors.
A report from the center of policy initiative, one of theĆ Gomez works for pays its contracted
janitors about 18,000 dollars a year for full time work.
While many companies out source, some have janitors on staff, providing full medical
benefits 401k plan, four weeks paid vacation, short and long term disability and more than
10 dollars an hour. >> >>: We welcome prosperity and growth in

end f May. The main sticking point is the healthcare
benefits. San Diego contractors are the only hold outs
