Wayne Dyer said, "If you change the way you look at things...
the things you look at change."
If it were that simple
why do so many people resist changes in their life?
Change is hard.
We get comfortable.
We ask,
Why change something if it works?
...or let's wait and maybe we won't have to change at all
The world and environment are changing
We need to adjust with them to better support our students and our mission.
so it's time to step out of the box...
our comfort zone.
A few years ago we were introduced cheese
and learned that acceptance and resistance.
Some of us are slow to accept that things need to be different
and others don't accept it at all.
Then when the iceberg was melting
we learned about a colony of penguins that saw change coming
and worked together,
strategically planning
what to do each step of the way to ensure their existence.
No matter what your role at Lane may be
change will happen.
And each one of us plays an intregal part in its success
Some key ideas for successful change management.
Create a sense of urgency.
Pull together guiding team.
Communicate for understanding.
And power all others to act.
Produce short term wins.
Keep in mind that change effects the entire college as well as each
individual.
Effective change management will take Lane from its current state,
to future state with minimal impact on its workers.
Each one of us
is a driving force that will implement the change
and fulfill our mission.
