Putting in the bearing into the wheel. Putting in the bearing into the wheel is actually
a very difficult thing to do. Sense the bearing is exactly the same size as the center of
the wheel and the tighter the fit the better. When you’re actually out there rolling around.
So there's two ways that you can put in a bearing into a wheel. So one of the ways is
if you have a tool that's specifically make with a bearing press inside of it. Now if
you’re lucky enough to have one of these it makes it a lot easier. You put the wheel
on a flat surface and you put the bearing on top of the wheel and with this tool you
press it into the wheel. Now you'll find that this may not be locked into place but I'll
show you in one second how you'll make sure that this is locked in. The other way that
you can put a bearing into a wheel is by putting the bearing with the proper side facing upward
and guide it in like this and locking it in like that. Now you’re going to want to take
off the washer and make sure that you put one on each side like this. Now when you put
your bolt on your going to want to make sure that it goes on straight. Especially with
a used truck sometimes it's difficult to get the bolt in and have it make sure it goes
down straight because sometimes bolts are made of a material that's softer that the
axle. So it's easy to get these threaded wrong and heading in. In the wrong direction once
you lock it down it's OK but eventually it may start to come off on its own. So you want
to get it in there straight and then you want to tighten it way past where you would ever
want to skate and make sure that it doesn't move first. Now what this is doing is locking
the bearings together as close as they can get. Now you want to build up the rung by
turning it left and loosening it enough distance for a little bit of movement and kind of check
how it feels and it looks like it's good. Now different people choose to put their bolts
on at a different distance. Depending how you want it end up feeling. I tend to put
some distance in between it and give it some space and some play. So that they can move
around a little bit. Another reason that you may want to make your bolt go a little bit
higher is to have as few threads showing at the top of the axle as possible. Now the reason
for this is if you have fewer threads there's less threads that can end up getting messed
up. When you miss your tricks and you land primo and it starts to wear down. So that's
one reason that you should keep it at the end and I just like how it feels to have it
a little bit louder and sounding a little bit louder on the street.
