Dogs may not be comfortable with you massaging their ears, and if you want to massage them,
they might start shaking their heads. Read this article for tips on getting a dog used
to you massaging its ears. Get your dog ready..
Bring him/her up to your lap and wait until it is calm. Make sure the dog isn't squirming
around. Make sure your dog is comfortable, too.
Put your hand on your dog's back gently.. Start petting it in the direction its fur
is. Don't push down on your dog, and try not to hurt it. Make this comfortable for your
dog, and make sure your dog won't run away from you.
Pet your dog where it likes to be touched.. Make sure you do this carefully and gently,
though. Pet its head..
If it is not used to you petting its head:
Touch it anywhere near the head, such as the neck, etc.
Do this for a few days until it is used to you touching those parts.
Little by little, go higher until you reach the head. Pet your dog on the head gently.
Don't do it to hard or it might get uncomfortable about it, and jump off of you.
If your dog has gotten used to you touching its head, give it a treat.
Move on to petting the ears.. You can use the info for petting the head
of the dog, but do this with the ears instead. Later, start doing massages on the dogs' ears
until it is used to you massaging the ears. Thank you for watching!
