has been something that the n_r_a_ has supported in the past that's six of the
republican senators who voted against yesterday
had voted for
in the past
did not get enough votes to break a filibuster for a vote
the democrats who voted against it
market baggage
max baucus
heidi heidi camp
mark pryor
and harry reid for procedural reasons
republicans that uh... that voted for
essentially closing debating allowing a vote to go forward
to me who it co-sponsored the bill would mansion
kirk from illinois college for main engine on mccain
who knows john mccain may have some personal grudge against somebody that
led him to vote in the proper way in this instance
um...
the final tally was fifty four to forty six
never got the vote
present all bomber
following the um...
the vote had this to say
while this compromise didn't
contain everything i wanted or everything will be established wanted
it did represent progress
the represented moderation
and common sense
that's why ninety percent american people supportive
but instead of supporting this compromise
begun lobbying and its allies willfully lied about the bill
they claim that or trade some sort of big brother government is true
even though the bill
did the opposite
this legislation in fact outlawed
anywhere district
plain and simple right down the tracks
but that didn't matter
and unfortunately this pattern of spreading untruths
about this legislation serve the purpose
because those laws upset an intense minority of gun owners and that in turn
intimidated a lot of centers
that's it for uh... any type of sensible or any type of uh...
go and see if the legislation
it dies in the senate uh... for a number
reasons you had people are gonna be operate election in red states in twenty
fourteen you had harry reid who refused to reform the way that the said it does
uh... it's uh...
its business in terms of filibuster
uh... you you had uh... perhaps a failure for president obama
to be able to convince
and bring along the some of those democrats
um... and essentially basically
exercise any type of real strength in this situation so
uh...
that's that then i think you know part of it frankly uh... at the end of the
day is that
known of these senators who voted against giving the treats his bill
interested though
feel that they are going to be electorally jeopardized because
that's the bottom line
out
