Slight right turn to the slip road and you're here at the food paradise
called Jalan Alor.
And here you can find all you can eat.
This is what we call Lok Lok and
there's two version here, you have
the steamboat version, where you dipped the food into
boiling water and cook it. And then there's a barbeque as well
Basically you have meat or fishballs or some
vegetables on a skewer & you basically cook it yourself there's
condiments for you to dip
The prawn is RM 35 each
that's like what, USD10?
Next this is the king of fruits in Malaysia
it's called the Durian.
Durian, they have many species they have the D24
D101 & the most popular one is called the Musangking
And to go with the king of fruits we have the queen of fruits
which is the mangosteen. After eating durian you'll always have a bit of mangosteen
because it kinds of cools you down.
Durian is known to be heaty while mangosteen is supposed to be cooling
And we also have here,
this is not durian but this is jackfruit
or we call it nangka. This is dragonfruit
you can see how it looks inside. And this hairy one is called rambutan
What is popular here as well is grilled fish. There are many
stalls/shops selling grilled fish. You can also have noodles
of course the popular satay and barbeque chicken wings. And if you like
barbeque chicken wings
this one really good place to go to that end of the street
Well if you're thirsty, you can stop by and have some sugarcane juice
To make it more appetizing
they actually add lemon as well. I definitely suggest that you come to
Jalan Alor at night
to have dinner because that's when it's really happening. In the day,
you still have some food stalls open but mainly at night, that's
where the action is.
This is buah berangan / chestnut. Here we actually
cook it in a really hot coffee bean
