Is it bad to sleep on your stomach?
In most situations, no. Though if you are pregnant, it isn’t a good idea.
I’ve heard that how couples sleep together give insight to their personalities.
While spooning can suggest that they are still loving, two people sleeping on opposite sides
doesn’t mean they don’t like each other.
They are just sleeping in a way that is comfortable.
Sleeping on your stomach was a bad idea when you were a baby because you couldn’t turn
your face to get enough air if you were breathing into the pillows.
But I’m an adult.
Even six month old babies can start to be allowed to sleep on their stomachs.
I’ve heard that sleeping on your stomach is good for your back.
Sleeping on your stomach can relieve pressure on the spine, which sleeping on your back
would worsen. And sleeping on your side would put the spine out of alignment.
But sleeping on your stomach means you have to sleep with your head turned, unless you
are on one of those fancy tables with a face whole in it.
Yes, reducing back pain can cause neck pain.
Would sleeping on my back be better for my back?
It keeps your back properly aligned unless you have too many pillows under you. It prevents
back pain unless you twist into an awkward position.
But sleeping on your stomach reduces snoring.
Actually, the position for this is sleeping on your side, but sleeping on your stomach
is better than the back.
I’ve heard that it is bad for reducing wrinkles and body tone.
In theory, sleeping on your stomach squishes your face and ***, but in reality, it
does little.
If only sleeping position were the key to beauty sleep.
If you want to sleep on your stomach and it doesn’t hurt, go ahead. But as with anything,
if it becomes a pain, do something else.
