Hi! I’m Monica from Close To My Heart. Today I want to
show you the many ways that you can use background
stamp sets on your projects. The trendy background stamp
sets are featured in the Spring/Summer 2013 Idea Book.
Let’s begin. Let’s look at these really fun stamp sets I have
right here. Here you can see In the Background stamp set,
is what it’s called, it’s got some really fun patterns and
designs and this beautiful floral, I’ve got some projects
I’m going to show you in just a bit that feature some of
these stamp sets here. And here is the Distressed
Background and the really cool thing about these stamp
sets is that they work together continuing on as you stamp
them. So you’re not having to manipulate things a certain
way, they’re designed to continue on.
So I’m going to do some stamping just to show you
exactly what I’m talking about, how these designs link up
together and nest together too. So here I’ve got a really
fun, the chevron pattern from the In the Background stamp
set and I’m inking it up in my Lagoon color. You can see
I’ve got good coverage there and I’m going to stamp it
right onto my Colonial White paper and I’m going right in
the center so that I can show you how it all matches up
together. All right, so here we go. There’s the pattern. And
now I’m going to take the same image and I’m going to
ink just that line that I want connected on so I don’t have
to do the whole stamp set, and then because I can see
exactly where I’m lining things up, you can see right there
it’s all lined up together and I’m going to put that down.
And it’s a continuation of that pattern. Isn’t that so fun?
Not only is it a continuation I can also do some fun
nesting, so let me ink some more. And this will show me
exactly where I want to put my stamp set so you can see
there. I’m going to put my, I got to look over just a little
bit and now I’m going to put that down and it’s nested all
together. Isn’t that so fun? Well le me show you want I did
on this layout over here. You can see this fun chevron
pattern was stamped in White Daisy and you can space out
the pattern. You can see that this one is a little more
spaced out that what I showed you down here on my
stamping. But it’s a really fun technique. You can make
your own Background and Texture paper.
And so I’ve got some other samples I want to show you of
different things that we’ve done with these really fun
backgrounds. So let me move this paper out of the way
and you can see this fun little box, you see how it’s got
this little edging here and it’s just perfectly aligned. You
can see all of that. So of course you want to stamp on the
flat part. You don’t want to make sure, you don’t want to
assemble it before you start stamping, but I’ve used this
pattern right here and you can see that it’s wider than the
edges of this cute little box. And so with some masterful
masking, you can make sure you have some really clean
lines to make this really fun box and have this really
beautiful clean pattern on it. All right, let me show you
this other card. You can see here this fun little stripe
pattern right here, all it is, is putting it down exactly
directly without having to connect or nest because it was
wide enough so you can make just a simple pattern out of
the background stamps as well.
So, as you can see, background stamp sets are so versatile
and are super easy to use! If you’d like to get some of
