I'm Dr. Anthony Brignoni I've been practicing in Port Charlotte for 21 years in cosmetic
surgery. Tumescent liposuction what that means is we're going to inject fluid into your fat
tissue or edipose tissue that's going to get swollen.
The tumescent solution consists of normal saline and lidocaine solution which will give
you the numbing and painfree surgery epinephrine which constricts the vessels and prevents
bleeding. We also put bicarbonate if the patient is awake during this procedure the bicarbonate
will make the solution not be stinging or burning like when you usually get an injection
of some type of medicine.
Once the area in the body is tumescent, or swollen with this fluid we wait a period of
twenty or thirty minutes for the vessels to constrict and for the solution to permeate
all the edipose tissue and then incisions are made which usually they are very small
located in areas that usually can be hidden from view and then we can start the liposuction.
