Ok, I'm going to be using songofthesecond.tumblr.com to change it into, I don't know, something
like untaken3.tk, as an example. Head over to dot.tk and this is where you put your URL
that you want. To see if it's available or not. It says that the URL I chose is available.
So once you find an available URL then, under "Forward this domain to", you just want to
put your current Tumblr URL. We're going to be changing this later so we just kinda put
anything there for right now. 12 months. Then you're going to want to sign up for an account
if you plan on renewing this domain after a year or so. I already have an account but,
yeah, you can sign in with Google, Facebook, or sign up with an email address. I signed
up with an email address and you have to confirm your email. I'm not going to be doing that
in this video. You'll have to do that yourself. It's pretty self explanatory. Since I already
have an account, once I enter my information I'm going to be adding the URL to my account.
Once you confirm your email and you come back to the website, it's going to say "Thank you
for registering your domain". Then you're going to want to log in. Once you're logged
in you're going to want to head to the "Domain Panel". Find the domain that you registered
and then click "Modify". You don't want to be under "Domain forwarding", you want to
be under "Dot TK DNS Service". Make sure the "Type" is "A Record". Then for your host name
put your new URL. For IP address we're going to have to log into Tumblr. Once you're logged
into Tumblr click the Settings gear. Then click on the name of your blog. Then you're
going to want to click use a custom domain Type in your domain. Test it out. It's going
to say it's not pointing to Tumblr. So you're going to take this code, this IP address,
and then head back to the other page, and paste it in here. Click save changes. It should
say that everything is great. You can go back to Tumblr and test it again. It's likely not
going to work. You might have to wait 48 to 72 hours. You can even try your new URL out.
It might work, it might not work. It's not working for me right now. But once this starts
working, you're pretty much all set. This testing isn't as important as your new URL
automatically forwarding to your Tumblr account. So that's about it. If you have any questions,
put it in the comments below. Make sure to subscribe. If this video gets out of date
or something, I'll probably re-record it. Thanks.
