i am Ahmed Gaber's mother my son was arrested on February 3rd 2011
from February 3rd 2011 until December 2011 suffering and humiliation in prison and with military police and the military council,
my son didn't suffer in prison as much as I suffered outside, on contrary we are both suffering , he was humiliated inside prison and we were humiliated outside
until god blessed us and he spent ten month and sixteen days in prison then god blessed us and he had a retrial
we proved he is innocent, we don't want military trials we aren't against the army or the military council but we don't want military trials
we are civilians & we have the right to a civil trial not military trials
anyone criminalizes should be trialed in front of a civil court not front military trials
we don't agree on the article 174 in constitution
He was arrested on 10 March 2011, since 10 March 2011 until 20 January 2012
neither me nor his father stayed home we were on the streets all the time
we disapprove military trials, my son was 19 years old civilian supposedly
if he or anyone do something wrong we should be sent to a civilian court not a military court because they are civilians
this was the first time our boys know what does it mean curfew ، we ourselves did not know what it means curfew
is they took him and trialed him in a military trial and was sentenced to five years in prison
we were humiliated and went prisons and we went to every place to try to uncover the innocence of our boys
Ten months didn't sit at our home , until god blessed us and our sons were released
we a group that joined our hands together and we met field marshal Tantawi three times
we stood in front of the ministry of defense until he come down from his car and talking to us
we told him our boys are civilians if you want to trial them for anything
trial them in front of civil courts don't trial them in front of military courts
because they are not military personals .
I was arrested on April 8, 2011 and tried military trial
military tribunals are exceptional injust trials
the accused face injustice whether guilty or innocent
the judge doesn't give a fair chance for the lawyer to defend the accused
The judge doesn't hear approving or denying witnesses
doesn't hear the accused himself or give the accused an opportunity to defend himself
the accused stands in front of the prosecutor without a lawyer
and without warning any defense l awyer to attend the investigation with the accused
That is why I ask the fifty commission to ban Military Trials for Civilians.
