- There are hundreds and thousands of women
coming out of the military,
many of whom have a business idea
or have already started a business
and need help to grow it.
Getting them into a community of women
is a really important point,
and then exposing them to all kinds of experts
and opportunities.
There's a moment in a women's business growth trajectory
where she really does need to be with other women
who are working together
and, in some cases, who are a bit more successful
so that they can see what the future holds for them.
- My name is Ruth Christopherson,
and the name of my company is StratLynx, Incorporated.
I joined the military to get a good education.
32 years later, I retired as a Navy captain
and had an incredible career.
My business provides change management consulting services
to leaders that need to make big changes
in their organizations.
I wanted to create the company that I needed
when I was on active duty.
Opportunities like the WVEC
are important to women business leaders
because it gives you an environment
where you can come together
with people that have the same background as you,
the same fears as you, the same challenges as you,
and it's a very nonthreatening environment.
You get to share your stories, share your experiences,
and grow from each other.
Organizations like Count Me In are incredible.
Don't hesitate to ask other women for help.
Don't limit yourself.
Figure out what it is you want to do, and go for it.
