Hi Guys! I'm back! I know it has been forever, but I'm back. And I'm back with this look,
that I've posted on my Facebook page before, inspired by Nicki Minaj. Now Nicki Minaj wore
this look in one of the Idol judging days and I thought she looked amazing!
She has... I think she's changed her makeup artist. Her makeup artist right now is this
lady called Joyce Bonelli and she has just been getting her makeup on point. It's still
out there. It's not a plain Jane look, but she looks amazing. It's more toned down, she
looks more real, she looks more human.
So I posted this look on Facebook and some of you guys liked it and I thought okay let
me recreate it for you guys. If you like this look too and would like to know how I got
it, please carry on watching.
So I've already got foundation on my face and now I'm using Too Faced Shadow Insurance
to prime my eyelid. This is very important, it will make sure that the eyeshadow stays
on for as long as you need it.
Now I'm going to apply a golden, yellowy eyeshadow using a shader brush. What I'm doing is I'm
patting on the colour, I am not moving it around. I'm just packing it on, gently, on
top of my lids. Use a tapping motion.
You then want to take that colour above your natural crease. Where your eye folds, you
want to bring it above that.
Now you want to sketch out your outer V so that you have that corner shape. And then
you just carry on and do the same thing on the other eye.
Now you want to use a medium brown as a transition between your brow bone and that golden, yellowy
eyeshadow. Use a fluffy blending brush to blend out that outer edge of that colour that
you've already placed on your lid.
Using a dark brown, further define that outer V that you had sketched out with your gold
eyeshadow. You just want to have the illusion that your eye is deeper in that area.
Do the same to the other eye.
I'm using an angled brush to do this. Now I'm using a fluffy blending brush and I'm
just blending out those sharp edges.
Again with my dark brown eyeshadow and a fluffly blending brush, I'm just defining the inner
contour of my eye. This is a lot of work. Just start gently. Don't put on a lot of colour
at the beginning, just start with a little bit of colour and build it up.
Just go back and redefine the edges of that gold colour.
Now for the fun part! I'm using a glittery liquid eyeliner and I'm putting that all over
the part where I've got that golden colour on my lid.
Now with a black eyeliner, just thicken the upper lashline. You do that by applying the
eyeliner directly to the lashline where your eyelashes are growing. Kind of like on the
inside.
Now you want to wing out the black eyeliner. So take your black eyeliner and extend the
wing out, following that outer V shape that you've created.
Now using a smaller brush and an ivory colour from any palette you choose; apply that colour
to your brow bone. This will help to highlight the brow bone and give more dimension to the
eye area. Use a similar colour highlight the inner corners of your eyes on the lower part.
With that done you're pretty much done with the eyes.
Now you just want to apply lip balm to your lips.
My camera stopped working, but I applied pink lip liner to my entire lip. This will help
to keep the lipstick in place and also just bring out the colour a bit more.
So now I'm applying this pink lipstick by MAC, which is called Pink Nouveau.
As an optional step, you can add false lashes for more drama. And...VOILA!
Okay guys, that's it from me and this Nicki Minaj inspired look. I hope you liked it.
