BREAKING: Six men charged over Hillsborough as ex-top cop faces 95 manslaughter raps

Sue Hemming, from the CPS, said Duckenfield has been charged with the manslaughter by gross negligence of 95 of the 96 who died. Ex-chief constable Norman Bettison is charged with four counts of misconduct in a public office.
Former South Yorkshire Police officers Donald Denton and Alan Foster, along with force solicitor Peter Metcalf, are charged with doing acts with intent to pervert the course of justice.
Former Sheffield Wednesday secretary Graham Mackrell is charged with three offences relating to health and safety at sports grounds. Loved ones of the 96 victims had met with senior figures from CPS.
CHARGE: David Duckenfield, pictured in 2015, has been charged with the manslaughter of 95 fans. Ms Hemming made the announcement to families of the deceased at a private meeting in Warrington this morning.
She said: Following our careful review of the evidence, in accordance with the Code for Crown Prosecutors, I have decided that there is sufficient evidence to charge six individuals with criminal offences.
Criminal proceedings have now commenced and the defendants have a right to a fair trial. It is extremely important that there should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online which could in any way prejudice these proceedings..
The Liverpool fans died at an FA Cup semi-final with Nottingham Forest on April 15, 1989. They were crushed on the grounds Leppings Lane End terrace.
An inquest previously found that the deaths of the victims were unlawful. The jury also found that fans did not contribute to the danger. A Sheffield Wednesday spokesman said the club had no comment to make.
