Here I am on December 22, 2010 in the Parking lot of Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, California.
And a great example of what rivers do when they overtop their banks. We’re seeing a
good example of flooding here of the San Diego River.
Right before I came to shoot this video I went online to the U. S. Geological Survey
website and pulled up a stream gauge for this area and it indicates that about now, about
right now, the San Diego River is flowing at a discharge of approximately 10,000 cubic
feet per second.
During the dry season, we’re lucky to get maybe 10 to 20 cubic feet per second flowing
in the San Diego River, but right now of course, we’re seeing the results of pretty severe
flooding.
