Hi everyone!
No Alvo here again,
with a very different video this time.
Who follows me on Twitter and on Facebook
knows that around 1 month ago I took part in a team trial,
for the brazilian national archery team,
which took place in Maricá, Rio de Janeiro,
where is located the training center
of the Brazilian Archery Confederation.
During my trip, I made some videos
to show the whole dynamics of the competition,
of the trip, arriving there, the preparations,
what I think of the competition, so...
Check it out!
Brasília International Airport
Thank you.
First travel video of No Alvo.
My first trip of 2013 also.
Right now...
6:09 am.
Very nice to travel early like this.
Traveling with André.
“How’s it going?”
For team trials in Maricá, Rio Janeiro.
And, so nice, I don’t have a window.
Awesome!
These trials are for two stages of the Archery World Cup:
Shanghai and Antalya, in Turkey.
And, well, as I said, first competition of 2013.
Let’s see how things go.
So, we have just taken the bus to Maricá.
We were lucky that after taking a cab to the bus terminal,
we didn’t have to wait, the bus was already there.
Very good.
Now, aproximetely 2 hours until we get there.
We must arrive by lunch time.
We’ll be able to shoot a bit during the afternoon.
Let’s try to rest for a bit here in the bus.
And, Rio, here we are.
Arrive, unpack our stuff, probably get the bow ready, too.
“Rest a little.”
Yeah, rest a little.
Good thing is that the weather is cloudy,
but it doesn’t look like it is going to rain.
Also, it is not as hot as usual here in Rio.
And this is the perfect weather for competitions,
this way that it doesn’t rain, it’s not sunny...
“Not windy.”
Not windy. Mild weather. Perfect.
Let’s hope it stays like this for the weekend.
So, afternoon here in Maricá, I’ll show the field for you.
It is a simple field, but it has the necessary.
Few targets here because the trials will be a small tournment.
20 athletes, tops.
My scope here,
my bow...
Here’s the structure we got behind the shooting line.
So, everyone, we have finished our first day of competitions here in Maricá,
And I gotta say I’m very happy, I finished in first.
But, it was a very tough day.
We faced rain all day long, drizzle. It was ok.
But still, challenging.
Wet feet and all, it was kind of uncomfortable,
but anyways, I’m very happy.
And, there’s more tomorrow.
More competition tomorrow, so...
today I have to keep my focus, my concentration.
Stay cool because it’s not over,
but, very good first half.
Well, I’ll show you a bit of the structure of the training center.
So many shoes outside because there’s some mud, of the rain.
This is our room.
A little messy.
Because me, André and Luis Felipe are staying here.
Really, archer’s thing here. Arrows around...
... bows scattered and all.
We leave our bows all ready, just the string off, because
what is so nice about this place:
is the fact that the field is right over there.
So we just get the bows out, string them and take them over there.
There is none of this assembling and disassembling the bow.
Now I’ll do the walk here, to show you that it is really close.
Here there is kind of a shed,
to shoot 18m,
and also where beginners start shooting.
It is more for begginers,
but there are tournments at 18m, what we call Indoor.
And the FITA Round, the distances for men are...
... 90m, 70m, 50m and 30m.
And for women, 70m, 60m, 50m and 30m.
It is a round that tires more mentally than physhically.
I compare it to taking the university entrance exams,
but archery is way cooler.
Here’s the shooting line,
the field is set with all targets at 70m.
Tomorrow we are shooting only at 70m.
Same number of arrows, 144.
So this is the field here.
Hey everyone, that’s what I could record of the trip.
Two days of competitions,
with 144 shots each, for a sum of 288 shots.
I scored 1318 points on the first day, 1327 on the second.
This way, finishing in first place.
Very good result, that really made me happy.
Those are new results for me in competition.
A superb way to start the year.
I want to congratulate and thank all the archers
that shot with me in these trials.
We had a high-level competition.
Now, the next destination is Shanghai!
There I want to record these travel videos.
I hope you enjoy it.
And, everyone, thank you so much for your support
on Twitter, Facebook and on our channel.
Share the video, and next week we have more archery here at No Alvo!
Thank you so much! Cya!
“Ok, now let’s shoot the end.”
No, we shoot this later, Game of Thrones is about to start.
