Hello! My name is Angela, and I am a native English teacher
from Chicago, in the United States.
I'm also a professional photographer.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology and Sociology
from Northeastern Illinois University, here in Chicago.
I am also TEFL/TESOL Certified, and
I completed 190 course hours with a final grade of an 'A'.
I'm qualified to teach English to students of all levels,
from Beginner, through Intermediate, and Advanced.
I started teaching English at International TEFL Academy in Chicago, and since then,
I have had the pleasure of working with students from Russia, Colombia, Venezuela, France, and Turkey.
I'm open to working with students from any background, at any level, of any age.
My classes are for anyone who wants to improve their English conversation skills and grammar.
I like to help my students learn English naturally,
so my lessons are very personal,
and they are designed with your needs and goals in mind.
After we determine your proficiency in each of those four language skills:
speaking, writing, reading, and listening,
we will work together to reach your target goals.
My classes are based on just what you need. We can work on specific grammar points, vocabulary building...
We can discuss idioms and slang expressions, interview skills, role playing, pronunciation,
and plenty of exercises to improve your listening and speaking skills.
I'm so happy when my students ask me questions, even if they are not about what we're talking
about that particular day, because this means that my students are interested in English!
I really want to help you learn English, so if you ask me a question about something that
is not the topic of that day, I am still happy to answer it and happy to explain any confusing
words or issues that you have with the language.
When I'm not teaching English, I can usually be found taking pictures, traveling, or being
outside. I really like to hike, to walk, to bike, and to camp outdoors.
This is my backyard.
I also love animals, and I have an orange cat named Fred.
I'm also a foreign language student, and I love traveling. I understand how difficult
it can be to be in a country where the language that everyone speaks is not your native language,
so I am very patient, and I will be here to help you if you need assistance.
In the future, I am planning to move to Colombia to learn Spanish and to teach English.
I would love someday to visit Thailand and Kenya, so hopefully I will visit these places soon.
If you would like to be my student, I would love to be your teacher.
It's so easy to book a class with me. All you need to do is click on the link to my
italki account at the bottom of this page.
If you book a trial lesson with me, you'll learn a little bit more about the way in which
I teach. I like to use photography as a basis for lessons, but I am flexible, and there
will be plenty of worksheets and grammar practices for you to do as well.
I would be very happy if you chose me to be your English teacher,
and I look forward to speaking with you soon.
Have a great day! Bye!
