Hi, my name is Jill Weiss, and I'm going to give you just a little bit of rules and regulations,
on how to play soccer. First things first, is you want to make sure you have enough players.
Ultimately, there's eleven people per team. You've got a goalie. You've got usually about
three fullbacks, which they're the defenders on the team, protecting that goal. You've
got four halfbacks. The halfbacks, they're the ones that do the most running on the field,
because they're defending and they're also on offense, and then you've got the three
strikers. Those are the the ones you count on to get the goals. Second, you want to,
you've got to know what the purpose is of soccer. You are trying to score goals, dribbling,
using your feet, passing the ball, and working towards that goal, just getting the most goals
in the game. There's also, soccer is a non-contact sport. There's the yellow card, which is kind
of like a warning, and then you've got the red card, which you can be ejected from the
game. There's definitely a bunch of rules on the overhead throw, and being offsides,
things like that. The length of the game, usually ninety minutes is regulation. With
young kids, they usually, young youth leagues, they start out with thirty minute games, and
then progress sixty minutes, all the way up to ninety minutes, so those are just the basics
on how to play soccer.
