Hi, I'm Andy "the Magic Man" Segal. I'm here at Willow Billiards in Hoboken, New Jersey.
Doing some trick shots and full instructions. So if you're ready, let's get started. Alright,
now, so for position play you have to think also one ball ahead. You wanna think about
what side of the ball you wanna get on. For example, I'm gonna shoot the two ball in the
corner. And now, I have a choice. I can either follow the cue ball, draw the cue ball, stop
the cue ball. If I stop the cue ball, the cue ball is gonna be right here. And now I'm
shooting the three ball in the side. But the cue ball, which way is it gonna go? I'm cutting
it this way so the cue ball's gonna go this way. Away from the eight ball which is the
next ball I have to shoot. So I don't wanna shoot the cue ball and stop it because then
I'm gonna have a bad shot on the three. I can still make it but the cue ball's going
in the wrong direction. If I shoot the three now the cue ball goes down the table away
from where I have to shoot. So let me show you how to think about that shot. Three ball,
one ball, cue ball. So what I really wanna do is I really want the cue ball to be over
here on this side of the three. So when I cut it inside, it'll go forward. So in that
situation I have to say, 'well, I can't just stop the cue ball'. I'm draw it back a little
bit so I'm gonna hit it underneath. Pull the cue ball back a little bit. And now, I'm on
the right side of the three so I can shoot it and have the cue ball go down the table
for the eight.
