Hi guys! I'm gonna show you today how to do a basic contour with
eyeliner. Just a simple black eyeliner, I'm using the ULTA
dual-ended eyeliner in Deep Brown\Black.
I really like it because both sides are matte,
so there's no sparkle, no chance of microglitter getting in your eye.
Also, we're going to be using the CoverGirl
lashblast 24HR mascara-
Can you see that?- in Very Black.
The formula is actually waterproof, even though it doesn't
actually say that on the packaging, but I guess that
comes along with the whole 24 hour thing. Waterproof is great because if you're part of a sport
or you work out a lot, you don't have to worry about sweating your mascara off.
Do you see this wand? I love this wand.
It has a million little synthetic bristles on it and it's just huge.
It's perfect for massive volume and definition. It rarely clumps.
Now, if you're a beginner, you might wanna start lining your eyes
after you've applied your mascara. The mascara will provide
a contour line for you to follow as you apply liner,
so you don't over-apply or get it uneven.
'Kay? Alright, so-
This is what it looks like on the one eye. You see? This is what the finished look looks like.
I know it's very subtle, but it helps pull together any makeup look,
trust me. Even if you're just throwing this on in the morning
to go to school or go to work, this works. It will help you
look just a little more pulled together.
So, we're going to take our mascara- it doesn't have to be CoverGirl lashblast-
that's just the one I'm using- and we're going to wiggle it from base to tip
horizantally. For definition,
make sure you keep rotating the wand as you apply so you can distribute the product
evenly.
Like this. (Music Background.)
Alright, good. Now that we've applied the mascara,
we can start the contour. Because it's a basic contour, we're just going to tight
line the
upper lashes first. Because we want to lengthen and define the eye
without going too bold. It's going to look very
subtle, but a basic contour- like I said- it can just pull together your entire makeup look.
Okay, ready?
(Music Background)
Okay, and now for a little definition along
the lower eye, we're going to draw the eyeliner
from the outer corner along the lower lashline-
not the waterline, not the inside!-
but along the base of the lashes, and we're just going to stroke
that to about the middle of the eye. You might want to brush
where the line ends just to soften up the look. (Music Background)
Alright, well there you go!
A basic contour with black eyeliner. Like I said, a clean, defined
eye can just make you look so much more coordinated.
Especially in the morning, you're in a rush, you're in a hurry,
Or even if you have an event, and you don't want to look like you just rolled out of bed-
you know what? Messy buns are in-
No! I lied. But you know what? Buns are in, and
a defined eye can help just
you know, pull you together. So just throw your hair up in a bun, define that eye and
go to your party, or go to school or go to work, wherever. Okay.
Now that you know the basics of contouring your eyes
I can make a video where we get a little fancy.
Thanks for watching! Check back soon.
