Why were we put here? I think everyone wants to know why were we put here? Why are we on earth?
Let me put it this way, I like to think that God is real.
Why can't everybody be happy? If somebody had the answer to that, I'd like to hear it.
What is my life supposed to look like? What am I supposed to do with my talents and my gifts and
how am I supposed to be a part of this big, huge world with
seven billion people. Do I have any role to play in that?
That's the question people are asking.
I would say that God put this curiosity
in all of our hearts.
People have a desire for a sense of wonder.
People have a desire for a sense of love. People
want to figure out if something's true or not and who can they trust.
Even if you don't believe in God, that conclusion
leads you in directions.
In a word, what are you looking for in life?
We can have superficial conversations all day long but when you
are asking about something transcendent
and something mysterious, you kind of hear people's longings as well and their dreams
and desires and you hear their troubles
and their fears, and I think we're more authentically human
when we start asking spiritual things.
So why are you here, now I don't mean in the room but why are you taking up space on
the planet? What is your purpose?
Hundreds of Central Texas churches are teaming up to get you to Explore God.
What a great time
in a really open city to be talking about such
provocative topics.
God doesn't fear
our questions. He doesn't fear that we doubt.
So rather than some static God who invites us to come over,
I think that God is in pursuit of us. I think that to explore him is to
abandon oneself into the arms of God.
