Many Missourians love to hunt, but for every deer or turkey taken during the season,
the hunter had to make a trip to the nearest check station
and sometimes that wasn't close to home or hunt.
Well, not anymore!
Now there's tele-check! It's the quickest, easiest way to check a deer or turkey.
Here's how it works: you can call a toll-free number...or go on line at Missouriconservation.org.
If you're checking a turkey, you'll be asked to provide the telecheck number on your permit
In fall you will choose the type of turkey...adult gobbler, adult hen or bearded hen, juvenile gobbler, or jevenile hen
The county where you harvested the bird
In spring if you bagged an adult gobbler, you'll be asked for the beard and spur length.
If you're checking a deer, you'll need your permit number plus
The type of deer: doe, button buck or antlered buck
Total number of antler points greater than or equal to one inch
And the county where the deer was taken.
After you provide this information, you'll be given a confirmation number.
Write that number on the transportation tag attached to your game and you're done!
With telecheck...you can get your deer to the processor or turkey home to the freezer quickly.
