Hi everyone.
Today I'm taking a look at the OSOmount Dash Grip EX,
the sequel to the OSOmount Dash Grip. Now
what they've done with this latest version is to create
a one-handed operation on it. Now this means that you can effectively
mount your phone into the grip without having to use both hands.
You can use one hand, pop it onto the grip and it's done. Absolutely perfect. Now
as with all OSOmounts it comes with their super sticky suction cup
which as you'll see at the end of the video is more than capable
of lifting a desk. The OSO comes with as standard
360-degree rotational head. Now this means that
once you've actually mounted your smartphone you can then
orientate the actual device to exactly where you want it,
be that on a desk, in your car, or anywhere. Now
one thing interesting to note with the Dash Grip EX is it can take any device
up to four inches wide. Now this does mean that some of the bigger devices out
there
you can't necessarily put it longways into the
Grip. You have to turn it onto landscape and place it in but then you can
orientate the socket so that it's then within a portrait style.
This works absolutely perfectly meaning that you can essentially put a Galaxy
Note 3
or Nexus 5 into this device absolutely fine. But likewise if you've got a smaller
device,
something like an iPhone, you can just pop it straight in, in its portrait mode
as it were.
Now that's super sticky suction cup really is
phenomenal. Once you've actually mounted it onto a surface
you will really struggle to ever take it off
without using the release latch that it comes with.
As you can see I'm giving it some welly and it will not come loose, you
have to remove that little
tab at the bottom and then off it comes, nice and easily.
It really is a solid way to attach your
smartphone to your dashboard. Now as you can see here
we're showing the one handed operation, it is ridiculously easy to use.
And now let's have a look at that all-important suction cup
and see what kind of damage we can do with it. As you can see
I'm brave enough to not wear shoes when I do this and that's lifting a desk and
under the desk is fully loaded with about the same amount of weight again.
It's more than capable of well, staying attached even when
it's been put under incredible stress. The OSOmount Dash Grip EX
retails for £24.99 and you can pick it up directly from OSOmount's
website. Or alternatively, I'm sure it will be available from all good retailers very
very soon. This is a new product so it will take a little while
to filter through into retail I'm sure, but if you want one now
head over to OSOmount's website and you can pick one up straight away. It also comes with
a two year warranty
giving that all-important peace of mind with your purchase. I was really impressed
with the OSOmount Dash Grip EX, it's a worthy upgrade over its predecessor
and still at a fantastically economical price. Thanks for watching,
