Where are you from?
The Netherlands!
Really?
Why are you going to South Africa?
Because we are interested in your country.
Okay, so what is your final destination?
Cape Town! Almost there...
That is 120 kilometers from here‚ Cape Town
We're an inch away from Cape Town
and we thought we would still be able to make it....but no.
We're off to bed, we don't have the energy anymore.
It's the last sleeping spot, so it's a really special moment for us.
Thank you so much, see you in the morning.
We have to wake up at 6am. That means we only have 3.5 hours of sleep.
Let's see if I can snore this whole lot together for one last time.
The last hitchhiking day, yay! I feel good. Just like if it's my birthday or something. Today we're really gonna arrive in *** Cape Town!
It's far away from the Netherlands....yeah, quite a bit. So I'm gonna try to get a nice last ride now.
Are you may be driving towards Cape Town? To Cape Town? No, to Bellville,
Is that before Cape Town? Yes.
And can we maybe drive with you there and then we get another lift to Cape Town?
- Okay... okay. Really?! Thank you so much! Yay!
This is the sitting place and all your stuff can go here.
Alright. Nice.
Probably the last ride.
There you go. You know where to go? That way. - That way?
- We just cross the road and try to stop a car? Yes, you cross the road here.
Who's gonna give us our last ride?
It's a little bit unreal to finally arrive here. The whole time you hitch from place to place. From Munich towards Istanbul.
And every time you explain: 'yes, in the end we're going to Cape Town'.
And now you finally hitch towards the final destination Cape Town. That means we're almost there....9 kilometres.
That's soon!
You're a taxi? I see. Well, we're hitchhiking.
Well, you might need a good 4x4 if I look at that. (accent)
We just saw the Table Mountain. Flat as a table, that why it's called Table Mountain I think.
Do you still have some toilet paper?
I still got some toilet paper. Are you really gonna *** right here? In those bushes?
Just when we're just 9 kilometres away from Cape Town.
Who knows, we might be stuck here for half a day.
It's a little bit the same like with New Year's eve. That you have to go take a crap just before 12,
and that you're anxiously asking yourself whether you're going to make it before 12 or not?
It's those little things huh
Those people are gonna see you
Just image, a car pulls over...and says: 'yeah, you have to get in quickly' and then you say:
'yeah, but there's still somebody taking a crap in the bushes...'
This car was *** [singing]
Hey Sir. How are you doing?
So where are you going to? Eh yeah Cape Town is our final destination.
So, let me take you there. Nice. Thanks.
Really? Cool! Our last lift! It's quite amazing.
I can't believe you hitchhiked from the Netherlands...That's amazing. It was nice. It was amazing.
It's a long hitchhike...
Really, it's so weird, you're gonna be our last lift. It's my pleasure...
This is actually the first time that we're hitchhiking next to the highway.
Oh you also do hitchhiking, nice! Oh cool.
Last ride!
It's a bit strange, right? It actually feels like a normal ride, even though you know it's gonna be the last one.
- After this you won't hitch anymore.
Then you will be there where you intended to go to all these three months.
Remember that first cardboard saying 'Cape Town, really!'. And now we're here. Last ride. After how many rides?
Something around 140. I'm a bit quite, I find it a pity. I'm starting to realize that, yeah, this is the last ride.
These images are crossing your mind, there there there there
