The City Market, circa 1914. The City Market is known for its different shops, galleries,
and specialty shops that you can't find anywhere else. Its cobblestone streets attest to how
old it is. Many restaurants reside in the City Market. It is about one city block. Inside
the City Market is a farmers' market open Thursday through Saturday. The City Market
resides in the Moore Square arts district of downtown Raleigh. It is right across the
street from the Moore Square park. Many people are drawn to the quaint charm of this historic
part of Raleigh, but they are also drawn to the restaurants that keep it alive.
