Today on this 1997 Chevy Venture van we are going to install Tow Ready T-One connector,
part number 118355. The first step is going to be to access the rear hatch area. We are
going to remove the threshold and get into the side panel here where we will need to
make our connection. You want to gently get under and pry up on the threshold. Remove
it out of your way. We have a Phillips screw we have to remove here from this hold down.
And we are going to get in behind our panel here and pull it away to access our trailer
plug. You see here, after we have pealed back the trim panel, we have located the plug for
the rear taillight. There is a small locking tab. You need to press on that. Separate the
two connectors. We are going to take our new Tow Ready connector. We are just going to
plug that inline with the manufacturer connector. Make sure you press them together firmly,
that the locking tabs snap into place. 0:59 And what we are going to do is locate a suitable
place to mount our module. You can see here it has the double sided adhesive. The inside
of this sheet metal will do perfectly. We are going to remove the adhesive cover. We
are just going to tuck our wires back in the body cavity to make room for mounting our
module to the sheet metal. Now what we need to do is locate a suitable ground. This sheet
metal will do perfectly. I am going to use a self-tapping screw. Go ahead and install
that now. Now that we have got our ground wire in place, I am going to tuck any extra
wire back in here behind the trim panel. Go ahead and take my new 4-pole lead and route
it down here between the carpeting and the floor out here to my cargo area. Now I can
go ahead and put my trim panels back
in place. 1:52
