The typical student that's gonna do well here is a student
who comes in with clear, concise goals, from the start.
From the first point of contact,
needs to be a student that's well engaged,
that's looking to not necessarily "hide" in a class.
At UNC Pembroke, most of our classes,
you're looking at 25, 30 students.
A few of our general education classes
might have 45, 50.
Most of the classes are very small.
The student needs to be ready to engage that professor,
know that that professor's going to be there for them.
As long as they put in at least half of the work,
the professor's gonna meet them halfway.
If they're falling behind in classes,
at UNC Pembroke, what separates us
from all of the other institutions in the state,
is the fact that we do have
the Center for Academic Excellence,
you know, where students are gonna get
a lot of peer tutoring,
as well as tutoring from grad students, professors alike.
So, if you are falling behind or getting in trouble,
there's a lot of support here.
A lot of support here.
