Hi Everybody, I'm Dr David Reath and I'm here to discuss this week's Truth-O-Meter Tuesday question.
We pulled for the subject of this week's question from the annual release of the Plastic surgery Statistics
the number of procedures done in 2013. Each year we tabulate the results from our members
to the public and the press. I blogged about it for the ASPS and for our blog
and so we used that as the basis of this question. What we said was true or false..
Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty was one of the top 5 procedures done nationally last year.
Actually the answer to that is false. The top 5 procedures were breast augmentation,
liposuction, facelifting, rhinoplasty or nose reshaping and eyelid surgery.
Well for us, abdominoplasty is definitely one fo the top 5 procedures that I perform.
If you look at the statistics nationally, that's what the numbers show and of course
I think there is some variation in terms of what you see in one area of the country versus another.
In past years I've noticed there are more rhinoplasties done than in other areas of the country.
It seems in this area of the country the focus is on facial rejuvenation, facelifts and eyelid surgery, and also body contouring
abdominoplasties and breast surgery. So, the answer was false. Most of you got that correct.
Let's find out who this week's winner is.
Angie Tanner. Angie, congratulations. You are this week's winner.
We have a $100 giftcard for you so come into the office and pick that up.
